Q: How much time will you spend at my wedding?
Engagement session?

A: We only book one wedding per day. We will be there from the time you would like us to arrive to the time you would like us to leave. For an engagement session, expect shooting for about one hour. There is no time limit at any of your photography events.

Q: Can I view samples of your work?

A: There are samples available on our web site www.mdkauffmann.com under the gallery page. We prefer to protect our clients’ privacy by not displaying their full album. However, at your request we will contact a prior client and seek their permission to view their images.

Q: What are your fees for travel?

A: Generally, there are no additional fees for travel. We reserve the right to change this philosophy for distances over about 60 miles.

Q: Do you include an assistant?

A: I prefer not to refer to her as an “assistant” because her work is much more important. You will have two photographers at your wedding from start to finish.

Q: How many photographers work for you?

A: There are only two of us, and both of us will be at your event.

Q: How many pictures will you take at my wedding?

A: There is no limit to the number of images we will shoot. Generally, there will be about 500-700 images for you to choose from.

Q: Can I request a specific pose?

A: Absolutely. We encourage you to share your creativity and traditional family poses with us.

Q: Can you shoot in black and white?

A: With the miracles of digital photography, all images are available in color, black and white, sepia tones (think old west photography), or a mix of any of the above.

Q: What about editing? Is it included in my package?

A: Images used in your album may be edited for artistic purposes, and this is included in your package. For images not in your album, you may request editing. The cost for this will depends on the complexity of the edit and will be quoted before work begins. Photoshop is a wonderful tool and allows us to create, enhance or fix almost any image. I cannot make the groom He-Man or the bride a super model, but there are some tricks.

Q: How soon after the wedding will my images be online?

A: At the latest, one week after your event. Generally, I try to get the raw images up within 24 hours, and edited images up as they become available.

Q: How will my guests find our images?

A: Cards with the web site address and your password will be available and distributed to guests at the time of your event.

Q: What if I order a print and I don’t like it?

A: If this unfortunate event happens, please contact me immediately. My lab and printer offer a 100% money back guarantee on their work. It is one reason I work with them. If for any reason they are unable to solve the problem, I will fix it. No questions asked.

Q: How long will you keep the images online?

A: At least a year and longer as server space permits.

Q: What if I want to print my images myself?

A: As part of some of our packages, we include the high-resolution images and copyright release which make them suitable for printing. However, when printing on your own, we cannot guarantee proper color reproduction or image quality - there are simply too many variables between printers. Look for an article on our “Resources” page coming soon.

Q: Can I pick the pictures in my album?

Q: Do you cooperate with videographers? Other photographers?

A: I am more than happy to cooperate with a videographer. I am also willing to cooperate with any of your friends or family who want to take a few snapshots along with me as we capture your magic moments. I do request that we are the only professional photographers at your event and that no other images of your wedding be available for sale.

Q: Can I put disposable cameras on the tables?

A: As a professional, I have no issue with this. As a friend, I will say in the weddings I have been to where this has been done the bride and groom have been less than excited with the results. There tend to be a lot of cameras with one or two pictures on them, and they are generally not of the highest quality. The cameras themselves and the developing are expensive. It is absolutely up to you, but I would caution against it.
